Site Identity

Welcome to (Charlene Parris). I am an author who writes novels, which are sold in bookstores via links from this website.

We understand that privacy online is important to users of our Site. This statement governs our privacy policies with respect to those users of the Site (“Visitors”) who visit without transacting business and Visitors who transact business on the Site and make use of the various services offered by Charlene Parris (collectively, “Services”) (“Visitors”).

What is Personal Data, what Personal Data is collected and why it’s collected

PERSONAL DATA refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify or contact the person to whom such information pertains.

I use a newsletter service called ConvertKit to collect FIRST NAME and EMAIL ADDRESS. ConvertKit maintains a secure reader email list, which I use to deliver author newsletters and other book-related content. Your name and email address are not kept on this website. Also, please know that I will never share your contact information at any time, and every email I send to you will have an Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

Who we share your data with

Nobody outside of the services I mentioned above.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns.

We use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

Are Cookies Used on the Site?

Cookies are used for a variety of reasons. We use Cookies to obtain information about the preferences of our Visitors and the services they select. We also use Cookies for security purposes to protect our Authorized Customers. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using, with the drawback that certain features of the website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

How can Visitors correct any inaccuracies in their Personal Data?

Visitors may contact us to update Personal Data about them or to correct any inaccuracies by emailing us at

Compliance With Laws

Disclosure of Personal Data to comply with the law. We will disclose Personal Data in order to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. We will also disclose Personal Data when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our Visitors. (I doubt this will ever happen).

What happens if the Privacy Policy Changes?

We will let our Visitors and Authorized Customers know about changes to our privacy policy by posting such changes on the Site. However, if we are changing our privacy policy in a manner that might cause disclosure of Personal Data that a Visitor has previously requested not be disclosed, we will contact such Visitor to allow such Visitor to prevent such disclosure. We advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes are effective immediately.
